Itinerary
Amritsar – Dalhousie (2 Nights)
Tour guests will arrive at Amritsar airport as per their scheduled flight. Upon arrival they will meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to Dalhousie – tiny tinsel town spread across five hills near the Dhaulandhar mountain range. Later we have some free time to relax. In the evening we have a short Meet and Greet session.
Dalhousie – Khajjiar – Chamba – Dalhousie
Today we proceed to Khajjiar – also known as Mini Switzerland filled with natural beauty and picturesque landscapes. Those who are with adventure spirit can experience thrilling activities like Paragliding, Zorbing, and Horse Ridding etc. at an additional cost. Later we visit Khajjiar Sanctuary famous for Deodar Forest, Grasslands and an easy going hiking trail which leads to untouched forest and a mesmerising view of Pir Panjal ranges. In the evening, we stroll along the Ravi River and enjoy Boating at Chamera Dam.
Dalhousie – Dharamshala (2 Nights)
Today we proceed to Dharamshala – a hillside city surrounded by cedar forests located on the edge of the Himalayas known as the home of Dalai Lama. En route we visit Kangra Fort – the largest fort in Himalayas built atop a hill with a sweeping view of the Kangra valley. We then visit Chinmaya Tapovan – an ashram at the foot of the Dhauladhar ranges in the Kangra Valley. Here we visit the meditation hall. A small walk to reach the Ashram through the dense pine forest offers a panoramic views. Upon arrival at Dharamshala free time to relax and explore the surroundings.
Dharamshala
Today we explore Dharamshala. We take a photo stop at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium. We then experience a ropeway ride known as Dharamshala Skyway offering stunning ariel views of the scenic town. Upon arrival we stroll around at the famous McLeod Ganj – a beautiful town nestled amidst majestic hills and lush greenery has a prominent Tibetan influence. Spend some time exploring McLeod Ganj. You can go shopping at the Tibetian Bazar. Later take a photo stop at Dalai Lama Monastery (subject to operation) – serene Temple complex known for its ornamental façade and vibrant prayer halls and we visit Saint John’s Church – a Victorian era church built in the 18th century and Bhagsu Naag Temple – believed to be an ancient temple where Lord Shiva had prevailed himself. Here we enjoy a small walk in the Himalayan Ranges, feel the freshness in the air while we walk through this picturesque paradise and witness the beautiful sunset in the Himalayas.
Dharamshala – Palampur – Pragpur (2 Nights)
Today we proceed to Palampur – a beautiful town surrounded by green tea estates and forests of pine and deodar. On reaching Palampur we visit the famous Tea Gardens – vast expanses of land covered in lush tea plantations. Sip on your hot cup of tea surrounded by a vast stretch of tea gardens and get yourself clicked in the green paradise. We then proceed to Bir Landing Site – offers panoramic view of the majestic Dhauladhar range and the pine forests. Those who are with adventure spirit can experience Paragliding at an additional cost. Later we visit Baijnath Shiva Temple – one of the oldest Shiva temples known as an architectural masterpiece enclosed within lush green gardens and snow-laden mountains and Mata Baglamukhi Temple – a Siddha Peeth located on a hillside with carved pillars & yellow pinnacles. We proceed to Pragpur – India’s first ‘Heritage Village’ and check-in to our hotels late in the evening.
Pragpur
Today we walk in the heritage village of Pragpur in the narrow cobbled lanes lined with small traditional mud-plastered fort-like houses and colonial style buildings. We stop by The Taal – a historic pond located in the heart of the village. Later we visit The Judge’s Court – a 300-year-old heritage ancestral manor showcasing the Indo-European style of architecture. We then visit Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple – a 400-year-old temple regarded to be as powerful and sacred as Ganges. It’s time to witness the mighty and turbulent Beas River over the Chamba Patan Bridge. Here we enjoy a pleasant nature walk amidst the peaceful and blissful surroundings. The sights and sounds will give you a feeling of joy and happiness. The evening is for you to relax and explore the surroundings.
Pragpur – Chandigarh (1 Night)
Today we proceed to Chandigarh – the first planned city of India designed by renowned French architect Le Corbusier. Upon arrival we visit Rock Garden (subject to operation) – a garden full of sculptures is completely built from industrial waste, scraps, home waste and thrown-away items.
Chandigarh – Departure to hometown
